Melitopol is the third Ukrainian city to host Future City Game, a unique opportunity for local communities and city administration to come together and help each other solve Melitopol's on-going challenges.
The British Council is pleased to invite you to join the Future City Game in Melitopol which will take place on 15-16 June 2009. 25 young people of different disciplines and backgrounds will work for two days to generate creative ideas on how to strengthen Melitopol's identity and make the city a better place to live, work and play. The topic for the game is revitalisation of Melitopol central park and its transformation into an Intercultural Park -- a unique attraction for city inhabitants and tourists.
We welcome architects, landscape designers, entrepreneurs, artists, students, journalists and people who want to make a difference, are willing to share experience and learn more from others. The winning team will be rewarded with a special prize. All ideas will be presented to experts of the Council of Europe visiting Melitopol shortly after the game. Deadline for applications is 7 June 2009. The event is organised by the British Council in cooperation with Melitopol City Council, Development Centre 'Democacy through Culture' (Kyiv), Centre for Urban History of East-Central Europe (Lviv).
