In the academic year of 2009/10, the third class of the joint Master’s Program “German and European Studies” at theNational University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (NaUKMA) will start. The program is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The two-year full-time social sci-ence program includes a half-year stay at Jena University inGermany for the best students. Those participants receive a “double diploma” - the Master of Politics (MPol) from JenaUniversity, in addition to NaUKMA’s Master in “Political Sci-ence” with the specialisation “German and European Studies". Contents The Master’s program is designed in German language for postgraduate students. At least fifty percent of the teaching is conducted in German, the remaining courses in both English and Ukrainian. Participants willreceive comprehensive knowledge in the political systems of both Germany and the European Union. The program also provides courses in economics, legal and foreign affairs as well as methodology classes. Who can apply? All Ukrainian holders of a bachelor’s degree are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have at least intermediate knowledge of German and English as well as a strong interest in the fields of contemporary Germanand European affairs. Application Procedure Applicants must pass through the regular enrolment procedure at NaUKMA which includes entrance examinations in Ukrainian, Englishand Political Science. The procedure usually begins in early July.
