Змагання складається із заочного то очного раунду.

У заочній частині команди-учасниці готують та надсилають суддям письмові аргументи по спірній ситуації.

Очна частина складається із попереднього раунду та фіналу.

За результатами попереднього раунду визначається дві кращі команди, що і будуть приймати участь у фіналі.

За результатами фіналу визначається одна команда-переможець.

Змагання відбувається англійською мовою.

Останній строк подачі реєстраційних заявок від команд – 20 січня 2011 року.

THE 2nd ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL MOOT COMPETITION ON MARITIME ARBITRATION ODESSA, UKRAINE 18-20 March 2011

 

International Moot Competition on Maritime Arbitration is a competition for all law Students from all over the World.

 

 

This year the moot concerns number of issues at the forefront of economy affairs and challenges in the modern day of Global Commercial Shipping industry in relation to the development of International Trade and commerce which involves maritime transaction The facts of this year’s Moot Competition question forces the competitors to considers the appropriate substantives rules which requires to interpret the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act (COGSA), and the question of whether a foreign arbitration clause in a bill of lading is invalid under COGSA.

 

Since Maritime Arbitration is an increasingly important aspect of all Country’s legal systems, it is crucial for young lawyers to acquaint themselves with the way the Maritime Disputes are solved through means of Arbitration and revitalizing the shipping industry by making a great use of all the talents and capacities to show that we are great ‘Maritime Lawyer”

 

Apart from the Competition The Organizing Committee will give the competitors, Judges and Arbitrators or audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty and specific delights of the City of Odessa and to partake of the Excellence provided by the Ukrainian Cuisine. The application for the Moot Competition will be open till 20 January 2010. Center for International Law and Justice is pleased to invite your law school to compete in the 2nd International Moot Competition on Maritime Arbitration. An enjoyable social program accompanies the competition to enable students to meet with senior members of the profession and the maritime industry and to forge contacts with students from other law schools.
